Our People - Cheryl! Tisland

Cheryl! was born on the fourth of july and is quite a firecracker in spirit (thus the exclaimation point after her name). She is a software engineer who graduated from California State University San Marcos in 2001 with a B.S. in Computer science. Her parents and sisters both live in the area as well, and she has spent most of her time in New Smyrna Beach at the house her parents live in which was the house her grand-parents lived in while she was growing up.

She tends to wear many hats and is excited about the opportunity to help build a community resource for Daytona Beach and its surrounding areas. Friends call her whimsical and she loves to dance and spin (if you have a chance to see her on the dance floor, you will understand).

She is the mother of two wonderful boys, enjoys getting out and meeting people, and strives to be everything she can be. In April, she decided to put together an online city guide for Daytona Beach to promote art, culture, music and community awareness and progress. During the month of May, the site evolved and was launched on June 1st. She welcomes any comments, feedback and suggestions from the community in order to evolve the site into a valuable resource for the community.

Her sister, Risa, can also be seen on the site and writes about health and nutrition.
